Lincoln sponsors winning Aeroshell Aerobatic Team |
It
all boils down to energy management, according to Gene McNeely,
Slot Pilot/Right Wing for the Aeroshell Aerobatic Team, “On a
hot day, we don’t have the luxury of excess horsepower to
compensate for high density altitude. The key is knowing when to
make power changes and by how much.” The audience at an aviation
show is oblivious to this as the four Aeroshell planes fly in
perfect unison, as if they were attached to each other. Crowds
around the country flock to see this talented team and its “old
birds” perform.

How-to Project: gas cylinder clamping system |
This
how-to project was submitted to the James F. Lincoln Foundation
a few years back (not that many years – the welder just happened
to use black & white photos), but we still find it to be a
practical use of our welding machine.

What is Custom Arc?
Many
pipeline welders manually adjust their engine RPM to
suit their personal preference, application or
conditions. Why? Because adjustments to engine RPM
change the OCV (Open Circuit Voltage) to deliver more or
less heat input to the arc. The result is a softer or
more digging arc. In response, we developed Custom Arc –
an easy-to-use heat input control that can make all the
difference to discriminating pipe welders.
Custom Arc is now available on:
-
Pipeliner™ 200 G and Classic® 300 G (General Motors®).
-
Pipeliner 200 D and Classic 300 D (new Kubota® engine
models only).
